FAQ

Who are we?
The YWI Dormansland is a branch of the Womens Institute based in Dormansland. For our monthly meetings we aim to have speakers/hold events that all women would be interested in. You can read all about us on this website & this should give you an idea what we do & what kind of speakers/events we hold. If what we offer appeals please come along as a guest to one of our monthly meetings & give us a try, whatever your age.

Where do we meet?
We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at the Parish Room, The Platt  in Dormansland. See the Meeting Calendar for meeting dates & what we have lined up.

Who can join?
Any woman who wants to take part in what we have to offer.

Do I have to join?
Yes only members can come along to our meetings, join our clubs & attend our social events. Non-members are welcome to attend one meeting/event as a guest to see if they like it. After that they need to join, if membership places are available.

Am I too old/too young to join?
There is no restriction on age. If the speakers/events we hold interest you then please come along.

How often do we meet?
We have a monthly meeting, run satellite clubs, have social events & take part in fundraising & local events. But as a member you can take part in as much or as little as you choose too.

How much is membership?
Membership is £37.50 per year (as defined by the NFWI) and for this you get the monthly meeting, access to clubs & social events plus a bi-monthly WI magazine. This fee is reduced depending on when in the year you join. See the NFWI Become a Member page for more information.

How do I join?
Please email us or use the contact page to check if there are membership places available. If there are you will need to complete a membership form, which will be emailed to you, & pay your  membership fee.
